
Dr. Emma Leah Hettrich is a New York State Licensed Psychologist, Certified School Psychologist, and Diplomat of the American Board of School Neuropsychology. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Anthropology from Stony Brook University in 2002, and her Psy.D. in School Psychology from St. John's University in 2008. Dr. Hettrich has worked as a School Psychologist for the past 17 years and taught courses in School Psychology at the graduate level for 13 years. Dr. Hettrich has presented at local, state, national, and international conferences on topics related to assessment and working with children with behavioral and learning disorders. She is an executive board member of the New York Association of School Psychologists (NYASP).
Dr. Hettrich specializes in the assessment of neurodevelopmental disabilities including Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Developmental Disability, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Most recently, Dr. Hettrich served on the New York State Education Dyslexia Task Force, which was charged with preparing a comprehensive report on screening methods for Dyslexia and Dysgraphia in New York schools.
